Great holiday; wind at our backs under full press. Much needed space and a chance to bounce ideas off other like minded sailors. Food and drinks were wonderful and the sailing just like it should be.
You cannot bottle sunshine and happiness but Sam comes as close as one skipper can.
The best way to enjoy a Yacht IBIS adventure is to know what you want. If you want to be catered to in white gloves with table clothes, this may not be your trip. There are great options elsewhere. If you are looking to have a great full participatory sail that has you pulling lines, grinding winches, taking the helm, climbing over everything and making lifelong friendships, sign aboard to be an IBIS pirate.
I had a great time sailing from Grenada to St Vincent. The weather and the wind were perfect and Neil was an excellent skipper. I want to do some more sailing next year so keep me informed. The boat was perfect and I enjoyed my fellow crew members. All in all a fantastic experience and look forward to future sailing trips.
I had a great time.
Sam is an excellent sailor, host and chef.
A big thank you for providing me with a holiday experience definitely not to be found in the mass market brochures, which was precisely what I was looking for and do believe the rest of our crew would agree judging by the fun we all had. The fantastic impromptu barbecues on many Caribbean islands with the locals and hot reggae sounds, rum punch and wonderful company interspersed by sailing daily being fanned by warm breezes and in my case by my captains tongue for I know nothing about sailing but enjoyed gentle tuition. So to sum it all up "I'll be back"
I just completed the whistle stop trip on Ibis, with Sam captaining. Three other guys and I served as "crew". For me , this was the trip of a lifetime. We sailed about 450 miles in mostly great conditions. I learned a bunch about cruising.
We did 3 night sails. Sam and Neil scheduled several shore days for us. They lined up some great activities.
The food was wonderful. The company was a blast. I got a year's worth of laughter in.
Just a quick note to say many thanks for last week. From the start you and Francois made me feel welcome in a warm and friendly atmosphere and took me to some lovely places in the Caribbean. I thoroughly enjoyed it; it was a sailing holiday and that’s exactly what we did. I will be looking at your trips again for next year.
Perfect Christmas holiday in paradise. Thank you.
Great host and hostess + great weather = great holiday!
Thanks Sam and Francois for what has to be the best holiday ever. Great company, great fun and what more could one ask for. Will be back for more now that I'm hooked on sailing. Thanks again!!
We had a wonderful time; we loved every minute of it! Thank you Sam and Francois for making this such a memorable holiday. Can't wait for the next trip!
The most amazing holiday ever - a perfect Christmas and New Year! So many friends made and memories to take away, will never forget the sprout pasta! Thank you so much Sam and Francois, you guys are fantastic! Hopefully the first trip of many...
I had a wonderful time and loved being with such great captains and crew. I'll be back for sure!
What a fabulous 2 weeks! You are a great cook in addition to your sailing skills. Loved every minute.
Had a great time. Enjoyed the fun crew and I loved the well decked out Ibis.
Fabulous. Everything I hoped it would be and more!
Sam. thank you so much for a wonderful sailing holiday. You have taught me so much and have been a wonderful hostess. The time spent with you and Ibis has really boosted my confidence on the water and hopefully I can put what I've learned into practice again soon. I hope you have many more adventures on your travels and that your passengers/students appreciate your time and skills as I have.
Thank you Sam for a wonderfully relaxing holiday in the Bahamas. I've learned so much and this trip has inspired me to go on and learn more.
"Sam, just to say thankyou for an unforgettable 2 weeks on ibis 5 , never had so much fun standing up ! It was just perfect for me and managed to leave all me troubles and tribulations behind me, I really appreciated all the effort you put in to make it such a special time, keep up the good work, you have been an inspiration for my sailing practice !
"Thank you for an excellent weeks adventure, it was everything I imagined it would be and a whole heap of fun with all you girls. You are a great teacher and I really appreciated your patience in helping all of us adjust to life on the ocean waves. I felt I have really improved my sailing skills and you gave me a great deal of confidence, which was just what I was looking for.
"Just like this web-site, a trip on the Ibis is aesthetically pleasing and easily navigable so your expectations are already off to a good start....
However, the web-site doesn't begin to convey Sam's easy going hospitality which makes you feel welcomed and at home from the off, her patient attitude (sometimes saintly tolerance) to your (well my!) ineptitude,
"I have just spent 2 weeks with Sam Bartlett on her Yacht Ibis, I was a complete novice to sailing, having only done a couple weekends with disinterested skippers in poor british weather on tired old boats. So I found Sams boat to be comfortable well equipped and an excellent training ground, of course the weather is a plus in the Caribbean Sea and we were able to sail every day if we liked.
" I am right now sitting at my desk in my poncy suit and tie, dreaming of the warm weather and all the adventures we had. Thank you so much for creating that. I learned a huge amount and enjoyed myself immensely. Due in large part to you."
"Thanks again for such a fabulous time sailing with you last week. It was so fantastic to be on such a special yacht and enjoying the Caribbean at it's best. Even in the rain!
We had such a lovely time and enjoyed great company, amazing food and some fantastic sailing. We can only wish that someday soon we'll get our own yacht out in these waters.
"Having just returned from a most memorable and magical 4 weeks sailing down many of the Caribbean islands its hard to describe it all in a few lines.
IBIS is an extremely comfortable and well managed yacht ideally suited to this type of cruising. Spacious accommodation with incredibly, 3 heads below and a vast cockpit for the warm evenings spent sampling the iresistable Caribbean rum! The yacht sails well and flies from island to island in the warm easterly trades and big Atlantic swells.
