Sailing in Belize

The ultimate “get away from it all” sailing destination, come aboard as we explore the remote cays and teeming reefs, deserted white sand beaches and stunningly turquoise blue water.

Whether you choose the northern route including the (made famous by Madonna) Isla Bonita and Belize’s offshore atolls; an exporation of the central cays and barrier reef, or the cays of southern Belize and a trip into Guatemala’s Rio Dulce, your next holiday is sure to be the adventure of a lifetime in this remote corner of paradise.

Getting There and Away

Belize is not the easiest place to get to, but then the best places never are! There is only one direct flight from Toronto in Canada to Belize City (BZE), and a few direct carriers from US airports. Those travelling from Europe or elsewhere will need to connect through Miami or Panama. If you’re joining us for the final trip, leaving from Placencia, there is an internal flight from Belize City daily.

The Sailing

Day sailing with short (3 to 4 hours), inter-island hops in sheltered water, this trip is perfect for beginners. More experienced sailors will enjoy the reef navigation and the challenge of shallow water sailing.

Scenery

Mainland Belize is tropical jungle reaching down to the coast and a backdrop of rainforest covered mountains. The offshore cays near Belize’s barrier reef are a mixture of mangrove islands and coral islands fringed by pristine white sand and swaying palm trees.

Vibe / Ambience

Belize has a unique South American vibe, exciting, vibrant cities and sleepy coastal towns and villages steeped in its Mayan history.

Things to Do & See

Take a dinghy ride into the jungle and spot toucans, parrots, wild cats and other wildlife; snorkel gin clear water and unspoiled reefs at the UNESCO protected second largest barrier reef in the world; explore a Mayan temple, hike to waterfalls and caves…
