Bleu Turquoise – Beneteau 50 Sloop

The Bruce Farr designed Beneteau 50 is a high performance sailing yacht with all the luxury of a cruiser. Her racing hull combines sleek water entry with a wide transom for stability. Bleu Turquoise is a supremely comfortable cruising yacht combining elegant living and sleeping accommodation with sailing performance.

Offering 4 double cabins each with an ensuite shower room & heads (toilet) Bleu Turquoise offers fantastic interior living space that’s light and airy and with plenty of storage. Her wide decks and cockpit are perfect for lounging at the end of the day’s sailing, and a stern swim platform and shower make for easy access to the surrounding blue water.

Interior

Bleu Turquoise takes a maximum of 6 guests at any one time. The four ensuite cabins offer spacious accommodation not found on many other sailing yachts of this size. Singles travelling alone are not expected to share a bed or even a cabin or bathroom with a stranger! Couples, equally, will love the huge beds and capacious storage.

The light and airy saloon, whilst comfortable and inviting, doesn’t get utilized very much in the tropics; with temperatures in the 30’s, most of the time you’ll be outdoors.

The galley boasts both fridge and freezer, a 3 burner stove, grill and oven, and hot and cold running water. Perfect for whipping up a gourmet meal and having ice in the pre-dinner cocktails!

Skipper: Anthony Vlasseman

French Captain’s Certificate (Sail) 500 Tonnes

Anthony has been sailing since he was a child, beginning with dinghies and windsurfers, and for the past 12 years has been skippering charter boats from Greece to Malaysia and the Caribbean.  Now settled in Guadeloupe, Anthony is also, of course, a commercially qualified captain of boats up to 500 tonnes and skilled with most boat systems.

Like many Frenchmen, cooking is a passion, and he can turn out some excellent cuisine from the galley; he speaks English French and a little Spanish.

Anthony is excited with this season’s itinerary which takes in some new sailing areas for him, and is particularly looking forward to catching fish and snorkelling the reefs with our guests.  He also loves to teach and beginner sailors will benefit from his patient teaching style!

On Deck

The large cockpit seats 6 for meals in comfort, and provides an easy location from which to trim the sails and grind the winches. Midday shade is provided by the bimini (sunshade) and a dodger (sprayhood) protecting the entrance to the cabin.

The Beneteau 50’s strong construction means powerful winches and easy sail handling, and the wide side decks make it safer to be on deck in a bigger sea. At anchor the forward deck space makes a great sun platform for catching the rays and a ladder at the back of the boat means you can plunge in for a refreshing dip when it all gets a bit much!
